Harmonised AI Regulations

We applaud any attempts to balance AI with ethics.

This proposal from the European Commission caught our eye recently. It is intended to present a “balanced and proportionate horizontal regulatory approach to AI that is limited to the minimum necessary requirements to address the risks and problems linked to AI, without unduly constraining or hindering technological development or otherwise disproportionately increasing the cost of placing AI solutions on the market.”

If you get thru the whole document – and understand it – please let us know. For now, we think it’s worth a scan and keeping on the radar. We also recommend asking your vendors who are hyping up their AI tools how they are evaluating compliance with this EU proposal and how it might impact their solution.
