If you’ve been in recruiting any length of time, the term “cognitive bias” is not new to you. A lot of work goes into trying to avoid unconscious bias – from rewriting job posts to interview training and more. It’s no wonder this article caught my eye.
With so much awareness around bias – I was surprised to find that I was overwhelmed by the number of cognitive biases listed on this chart. This infographic shows and groups 188 known confirmation biases in existence. It’s a helpful visual to remember that bias sneaks into the recruiting process in a variety of different ways.
