Talent Board releases 2018 CandE Winners

We’ll admit it… each year we geek out a little when Talent Board releases their annual CandE Award Winners list. How employers treat candidates has been, at its best, the personal preference of a small minority of willing recruiters in the few moments when their req loads were almost manageable. Social media and evidence-based recruiting have provided the leverage to shift a ‘nice if you have time’ set of practices to a core competitive strategy. Employers and recruiters may still ignore candidate attitudes and behaviors…but now it is at their peril.

What we like about the CandE Award Process

Let me start with the caveat that I’m on the board of Talent Board – the nonprofit behind the Candidate Experience Awards. I believe in the importance of helping companies improve their treatment of candidates and, as a lover of good clean data, believe benchmarking stimulates innovation more than it fosters copying tactics blindly. Smart professionals in every field know that to differentiate themselves they should benchmark to extract principles that matter not tactics as just one part of their overall strategy.

CareerXroads, as a community, consistently encourages our members to participate, share and learn from one another what works, what doesn’t and, what’s next.

This year two hundred companies registered to participate in the benchmark research program, which ultimately collected the thoughts and experiences of over 130,000 job candidates. The ability to not only see your data – collected from your candidates no less – but compare it in aggregate to other companies is a huge benefit and, frankly, well worth the effort of applying. If your organization wasn’t part of this year’s benchmark, start the conversation now so that you’re ready to apply next year.

Congratulations to this year’s CandE Winners

Winners were identified through a double-blind approach that comprehensively analyzed candidate data from each employer. The data was cleaned,  normalized to reflect whether or not they knew they were hired or not and based on both job candidates’ satisfaction and a hybrid net promoter score. To qualify, each company committed to a statistically significant candidate response rate.

“This year an unprecedented 65 organizations received the highest positive candidate experience ratings in North America. We continue to see an increased focus on Candidate Experience and the value it brings to an organization.” Learn more about this year’s CandE results.

We admire the ‘bench’ of employers we acknowledge as winners of the 2018 AND equally admire those who looked into the mirror, found their scores wanting, but now have the evidence they need to do something about it.  As far as we’re concerned, everyone who put themselves to the test this year is a WINNER. We’d like to especially congratulate these CXR Members who are receiving the 2018 CandE Awards:

Adventist Health System
DaVita Kidney Care
Deluxe Corporation
Eli Lilly
Enterprise Holdings
Hilton Worldwide
Intermountain Healthcare
Johnson & Johnson
Kimberly-Clark Corporation
Lockheed Martin
Marriott International
Pratt & Whitney (a UTC company)
Shaw Industries
Waste Management

We look forward to celebrating with them and all those looking to learn from their peers’ case studies on Monday, October 15, 2018 at the Gaylord Palms in Orlando, FL.
